Hi,
I have my client code on appserver and it connects to voltdb server. I gave an incorrect hostname and it shutdown my appserver .
It throws a java.net.UnknownHostException which is good but is there some code which calls system.exit ?

Ritesh,
Can you please provide your client code that is leading to this issue? Either as a reply to in this forum or via support@voltdb.com is fine.
