Where in the docs does it clearly describe the stored procedure parameter and return types? The wire protocol docs suggest what's legal (WireprotocolIndex) but I didn't see anything explicit in UsingVoltDB-Index.

Application developers define what parameters stored procedures take and what values they return. As you mentioned, the supported types are defined in the wire protocol documentation.
For system procedures, you can find the parameter types and return types here AppSysProc .

You can find a description of the allowable return values for stored procedures in the section "3.2.3.5. Returning Results from a Stored Procedure" in DesignProc.

We will add a table of allowable parameter types in an upcoming release.
