Memory requirements

Hi. Since 4gb doesn't appear to be an absolute requirement, would it be possible to reduce the minimum requirements even more to facilitate development work on cheaper boxes, e.g. so it would work on boxes with just 2gb total? Perhaps as a startup parameter?

Lemongrass,
You can run a 2GB VoltDB server for development work if your data and indexes fit within the available memory.
Make sure you start your server with a Java heap size of 512MB or less (Look at the build.xml scripts for the example applications in the VoltDB kit, they all use a 512MB Java heap "-Xmx512m").

Not enough to run the server and a client...?

Thanks. I was able to successfully start up the Server (for the "helloworld" example), but then when trying to start the client (on the same machine), there wasn't enough memory to start the JVM (with the 512 heap size or even less),
even though it looked like there was over 600mb left after starting the server...
